Ttoring – Now More Than Every

Tutoring – Now More Than Ever
American parents enroll their children in a variety of sports programs – usually not because they will become professional athletes, but for the physical and emotional benefits of exercise, teamwork and discipline.  Parents have not typically invested equal amounts of time or money in "training" their children to become successful learners.  That, they think, is the role of the schools.
Parents who want their children to be successful soccer players would not depend solely on a school physical education class to achieve that goal.  Teaching children to become successful learners is a process that also needs to take place outside of as well as within the classroom.  Training successful learners is the role of tutoring.
For years, the perception was that tutoring was only for challenged children, or those who struggled in a particular academic area.  Now, however, that perception is changing and enrollment of children in tutoring programs is exploding.  Today, with budget cuts and austerity programs, schools have limited resources resulting in larger class sizes and less individual attention.  Tutoring Centers such as Tutoring Club are providing the academic coaching that students need.  According to Marc Perlman, Director of the West Windsor Tutoring Club,  “Many of the students who come to us are already at or above grade level;  we are helping them hone their learning skills in the same way that a child would go to a basketball or soccer camp to improve his or her playing ability."
He goes on to say, “Now, more than ever, gifted students need to be challenged outside of school since many schools have reduced or eliminated their gifted and talented programs.  The focus of our highly qualified tutors is to ensure each student consistently and systematically understands the subject matter, helping them reach maximum potential."
Parents who enroll their children at Tutoring Club get an unprecedented guarantee:  to raise each child’s academic level by a full grade in 32 hours or less.   Perlman goes on to say, "Parents are realizing that tutoring is a means of giving children the confidence they need to become successful learners and high achievers.  That’s a skill that will serve them long after they finish Little League."
